PRF (Platelet - Rich Fibrin)
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a regenerative treatment made from a patient’s own blood and used in cosmetic and medical procedures to promote healing, collagen production, and tissue rejuvenation.
PRF is considered a newer, more natural evolution of PRP (platelet-rich plasma).
How PRF Is Made
A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient.
The blood is spun in a centrifuge at a lower speed than PRP.
This process separates:
platelets,
white blood cells,
fibrin,
and growth factors.
PRF is commonly used for:
Under-eye rejuvenation
Fine lines and wrinkles
Skin texture improvement
Acne scars
Hair restoration
Facial rejuvenation
Combination with microneedling
PRF can also be injected like a filler in areas such as:
Tear troughs
Cheeks
Nasolabial folds
However, PRF is not a traditional volumizing filler like Juvederm or Radiesse. Results are usually subtler and develop gradually.
