Kybella (Deoxycholic Acid)

Submental fat dissolving injections, also known as fat-dissolving injections or Kybella or similar product (deoxycholic acid), are a non-surgical treatment that can reduce the appearance of a double chin.

The injections contain a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a natural enzyme that breaks down fat. The acid destroys fat cells, which are then eliminated by the body.
Results: Most people need more than one session to see results, which can take several weeks.
Side effects: Common side effects include swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, numbness, or a burning sensation at the injection site. These side effects are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few days to a few weeks.
Compared to surgery Kybella is a popular alternative to surgical methods like liposuction or fat excision, which can cause bruising, infection, and scarring. Kybella has fewer side effects and is less time-consuming.
